Labor Mobility - Registration Pathway
Labour mobility applicant's registration and licensing fees are covered by the Nova Scotia Government for their first year or partial year licensed in Nova scotia. |
Who This Pathway is For
Physiotherapists who are currently licensed in another Canadian province or territory.
Eligibility
You must:
- Hold a current, valid physiotherapy licence, in good standing, from another Canadian jurisdiction.
- Have your licence category match one offered by NSRPT:
- Full practising licence in your home jurisdiction → Practising Register in Nova Scotia.
- Resident/conditional licence in your home jurisdiction → Conditional Register – Resident in Nova Scotia.
- Provide proof of legal entitlement to work in Canada (e.g., Canadian passport, birth certificate, permanent resident card, valid work permit)..
- Meet all requirements in What You’ll Need.

What You’ll Need
- Government-issued photo ID.
- Proof of legal entitlement to work in Canada.
- Regulatory History verification from your current Canadian regulator (regulatory history form).
- Vulnerable Sector Check (includes Criminal Record Check) within the required timeframe.
- Proof of professional liability insurance (for licensing).
- Completed declarations about your professional and legal history (criminal/disciplinary matters, practice restrictions, terminations, etc.).
- For Conditional Resident applicants: approved supervision agreement and signed offer of employment in Nova Scotia.
Fees
- For your first year, registration and licensing fees are covered by the Nova Scotia Government — you do not pay these fees to NSRPT.
