Interim Competency Evaluation
NOTICE:
In January 2026, the Canadian Alliance of Physiotherapy Regulators (CAPR) launched a single licensure examination. The Board of the Nova Scotia Regulator of Physiotherapy supports adoption of CAPR’s single licensure examination in principle. Effective February 28, 2026, the Canadian Physiotherapy Examination (CPTE) will be the only pathway to full licensure available in Nova Scotia. Therefore, the Interim Competency Evaluation process is no longer offered. Please refer to Conditional Resident Licence - Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapists.
The Nova Scotia Regulator of Physiotherapy has developed an Interim Competency Evaluation process that will be utilized whenever a national clinical evaluation is unavailable for a period of 12 months or more. Please follow the links for further details:

Supervisor portal and member portal are not monitored for uploaded documents. Please email info@nsphysio.com to inform NSRPT if any documents have been uploaded via the portal.

When applying, please complete all forms in the electronic format. Provide and submit completed applications via email with supporting documents to info@nsphysio.com. Documents are required to be uploaded to the portal as well. Only complete applications, including all documents and full payment of application fee will be accepted.
